At one point I had two cell phones and decided I didn’t need both, so I went into the store to speak to someone about changing my plan. All went well until I tried to cancel one of the lines. This can’t be done at the retail location and you have to call a designated number.

Then the problem began. The representative I reached when I called the designated number was very aggressive in trying to convince me not to cancel the line, despite my insistence I no longer had need of it. I was also told that you can’t cancel the line until the next billing cycle, which just isn’t true. I finally demanded to speak to a supervisor, at which point I was put on hold for so long that I decided to hang up and try again.

I explained to the second person that I had been so frustrated by the first call that I was about thirty seconds away from calling the State Police and reporting harassment. This call did not go well either. I was told I had to wait a full billing cycle before the line was cancelled. I threatened to report the company to every federal, state, and city agency if they tried it.

Who makes up these deceptive policies? They should be brought up on criminal charges and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for trying to cheat people out of their money. Not only fined, but imprisoned. I shouldn’t have to go to this trouble to get a simple transaction done.

But that’s just my opinion.
